supporting the American Cancer Society!

Established in 1980, Columbus' Golf Classic is one of the longest running and most profitable golf events in Central Ohio benefiting the American Cancer Society with 100% of the proceeds going directly to support cancer prevention and early detection education, patient support services, research and advocacy efforts.

The Drive For Life Golf Classic brings together business and corporate leaders, as well as, golf enthusiasts for a spectacular day of golf, networking and entertainment. Thank you to our Title Sponsor: The James and to our Associate Sponsor, Plaskolite. These two organizations are true partners and champions of HOPE in saving lives from cancer.

When you join us on the links, you'll receive unique tee gifts, daylong hospitality and a gourmet luncheon sponsored by AEP. In lieu of a formal dinner, attendees will travel Around the World in a Day of Golf with grab & go, country themed foods with paired beverages from around the world, sponsored by OhioHealth. We are thankful for our continued partnerships and the priceless numbers of lives, positively impacted by our long term partnerships with AEP and OhioHealth.

We have the pleasure to virtually honor Chris Shultz and his cancer journey as well as his  oncologist, Dr. Joel Mayerson, of The James.

We look forward to seeing you on August 31st as we fight cancer from the fairways!

About Us

For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.

Covid-19 Impact on Mission

The Covid-19 pandemic has upended lives and plans. The American Cancer Society is no exception. Projected revenue for the year has declined by one third. Despite cuts we have made, ACS programs, including our research, are in jeopardy. An important part of our efforts have been to better understand health disparities. This year, we're slated to fund 59 health equity research grants. Each year, we invest $100 million in new research. Because of the budget shortfall, we are at risk of cutting cancer researching funding by 50 percent this year. Join our effort to raise $100 million towards cancer research.
